Driving visibility in search and AI-driven discovery

At Vivara / CJ Wildlife, we help people make more space for nature — right in their own gardens. We do this together with a strong network of environmental partners, knowledge partners and media agencies across Europe. These collaborations with nature organisations, experts and content partners strengthen our authority and credibility in biodiversity and nature-friendly gardening.

To further grow our online visibility and impact — both in search engines and AI-driven environments — we are looking for an SEO & GEO Project Lead.

In this role, you will take the lead in shaping our SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) strategy, ensuring scalable and future-proof content growth in an international environment.

You will work across all 14 websites, with a clear focus on the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom, collaborating closely with internal teams as well as international media agencies and content partners.

Your Role

As SEO & GEO Project Lead, you are responsible for the discoverability of Vivara and CJ Wildlife in both traditional search engines and Large Language Models (LLMs).

You define the strategic frameworks, bring structure to content development, and ensure that teams, partners and agencies work effectively within these frameworks.

You combine strategy, analysis and execution, acting as the internal expert for SEO and GEO within the organisation. In doing so, you ensure clear priorities, strong coordination and steady progress in a complex international content environment.

What will you do?

SEO & GEO Strategy

• Develop and continuously refine the SEO and GEO strategy across all 11 markets

• Define content structures, priorities and growth opportunities per market

• Translate search intent, SERP developments and AI-generated responses into actionable content plans

• Strengthen authority and expertise (E-E-A-T) through content and partnerships

• Ensure strong integration between SEO/GEO and paid channels such as Google Shopping and YouTube

• Make keyword data accessible and scalable for advertising purposes

• Align keyword strategies with media agencies for consistent use across Search, Shopping and video

• Coordinate international translations and local keyword validation per market

• Ensure alignment between organic content, product feeds and campaign structures

Content & Optimisation

• Optimise existing content for both search engines and AI-driven discovery

• Create and improve (or coordinate the creation of):

o Category pages

o Product content

o Advice, guide and knowledge content

o FAQs and evergreen content

• Safeguard tone of voice, consistency and quality across all markets

Analysis & Performance

• Monitor organic performance, rankings and visibility

• Analyse performance in AI-driven search environments and LLM responses

• Identify opportunities based on data and insights

• Continuously optimise content and strategy based on performance and learnings

Structure, Project Management & Collaboration

• Lead and coordinate SEO and content projects

• Collaborate with international marketing teams, translators and e-commerce teams

• Work closely with and guide external media agencies and content partners

• Ensure clear processes, planning and prioritisation

• Act as the internal SEO & GEO expert within the organisation

Who are we looking for?

You are an experienced SEO and content specialist who enjoys taking ownership and bringing structure to an international environment.

You have:

3–5 years of experience in SEO and content strategy

• Experience working with international websites and scalable content structures

• Strong knowledge of SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs or similar platforms

• Strong analytical skills combined with strategic thinking

• Interest in AI, Large Language Models and emerging search technologies

Excellent fluency in Dutch & English (German is a plus)

• Experience with project-based work and stakeholder management

• Affinity with nature, gardening or sustainability (a plus)
